Windmills in Portugal, Algarve
The western Algarve can be a pretty windy place with strong breezes blowing in from the Atlantic. A number of picturesque windmills were built in the 19th century on the Algarve coast and were used as olive and corn mills.

There are windmills to let in Albufeira, Tavira, Salema, and other towns on the Algarve coast. Some recommended places to stay within windmills are Windmill Hill in Cercal, the Pura Vida Windmill Lodge in Azoia, and the Casa Moinho do Oeste in Moledo.
