This large square is surrounded by popular bars, restaurants, and cafes and is an ideal spot to relax. 34 is a Portuguese-Asian cuisine fusion restaurant that is listed in the Michelin guide.

The square itself is decorated with calçada - the distinctive, patterned Portugal stone work. There are several benches to sit and take in the unhurried scene.

The four star EMAJ Boutique Hotel in Guimarães (Book this hotel with Booking.com) is located in the Largo do Toural. Also here is the Basílica de São Pedro.

Shops in the square include a couple of pharmacies, a jewelry store, a boutique and banks and ATM's. There is also a taxi stand near the EMAJ Hotel.

Toural is also a hub for buses in Guimaraes.
